Baltimore Law Firm Becomes A PlaceMaker™

City Imprints owner Bruce Plourde values the art of PlaceMaking™ so much that he built his company around it. Whether he’s photographing landmarks or landscapes, Bruce is always capitalizing on the greatest assets and inspirations of local communities. His photographic art collections re-imagine everyday locations in a way that strengthens a connection between people and the places.

Recently, Robert Jenner, managing partner of Jenner Law in Baltimore, MD, noticed City Imprints’ work. He was initially impressed with the PlaceMaker™ collection he saw at a Richmond, VA, financial firm. That’s when he decided to contact City Imprints about artwork for his office.

Robert and Bruce spent a Saturday morning discussing PlaceMaking™, Baltimore, and the significance of Bruce’s education at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, GA. Robert had always been impressed by the talent coming from the art and design university. The two also connected over their shared values. Jenner Law developed a trust to contribute to those in need worldwide financially, and Bruce is also involved in many charitable initiatives.

Soon after the call, Bruce went to work photographing the city. Baltimore is notably writing a new chapter in its history, and Bruce wanted to honor the city’s past while also capturing the vibrancy of its future.

Bruce fell in love with Meadow Mill, the four-story property that houses Jenner Law. Located in the Hampden-Woodberry neighborhood, Meadow Mill is an adaptive reuse of an 1877-built cotton mill listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Guests who enter the main lobby find antique photos of the building’s past, including its connection to London Fog, a well-known outerwear company. The building’s past is experienced through worn handrails and the faded imprints of Meadow Mill on stair treads.

The reuse of the space from old to new is spectacular.

Jenner Law’s office is part of the modern adaptation of the mill. Its interior features clean lines, plenty of light, and an open floor plan with private offices. Expansive ceiling heights highlight the mill’s iron beams and new roof structure.

City Imprints used a mix of wood and metal digital reproductions with wire hanging and aluminum standoffs to create timeless, unique installations. The conference room features a sizeable multi-panel install of Meadow Mill on metal and framed wood reproduction of the mill from years past. City Imprints captured the building’s current architectural glory and its historical context.

Additional images include Graffiti Alley, one of Baltimore's most photographed locations, as well as Inner Harbor, Baltimore Skylines, National Aquarium, Mount Vernon, and several other beloved locations.
